Valentine's day countdown

Starting today I will be posting Lego Valentine's day photo's as a countdown to Valentine's day. Here is photo #1.
Hmm. Why is a rebel hanging out with a storm trooper?

Can you feel the love in the air?

Cool creation of the week (mr.snail's speedster)

This cool creation of the week was made by Pikachubyu. It is a sweet looking ride, with a narrow front, and a wider back. It's functions include opening doors, moving steering wheel, and an opening trunk. Sadly this creation does not have Mr.Snail in the car, because he is late. If you want to see Mr. snail, or you just want to build him, click here.

When gun control goes too far

A five year old kid who goes to an after school program at Hyannis West Elementary School faces possible suspension over making a lego gun. The gun looks unrealistic, and the reaction to it was way over the top. The adults running the after school program claimed "he was posing a threat to other kids."  I would understand if it was a lego sword and he was beating people over the head, but this behavior was not inappropriate nor was it violent. What do you think?

Lego.com comic makers

If you haven't already you should check out the lego.com comic makers! They are located on City, Hero Factory, Star Wars, and DC Super Heroes. These lego themes' home pages can be found on Lego.com if you click on the button in the top right corner labeled products. These comics are fun and easy to make, just like this one I made for school on the  Lego City comic maker.

Cool creation of the week (Ninja Shrine)

This cool creation of the week was made by lloydgarmadoncole. It's a ninja shrine that is disused as a hut. You can also make the ninja knock down the door to reveal the golden chainsaw.
my favorite part of this creation is the background is a tissue box. I think it makes for a cool background, especially that it's an orange flower theme, because it goes good with Ninjago.

Jabba the Hutt set, Turks upset

The lego the Jabba the hut set is under siege by the turks.
The Turks have found that the Lego Star Wars set; Jabba the Hutt's Palace  looks a lot like Istanbul's Hagia Sophia monument, a scared place of worship for them.
Though lego replies that the set Jabba's Palace is made after Jabba the Hutt's lair in Star Wars, A Turkish group says it looks way to close, even mocking to the structure of the Hagia Sophia.
Lego still has not withdrawn the set from stores yet, but they may soon. In this situation the people usually win.  For those type of people who like the Star Wars line of lego may want to buy it soon for this product may soon become extinct.
The main problem that the Turks have with this lego product is that the "smoking villain Jabba" and multiple weapons are located within this set. Also the fact that you can simulate a fight in it is an issue with the turks. Other sources claim that the villain Jabba the Hutt perpetuates racism and prejudice towards muslim children who play with Legos.

This is a detailed comparison of the mosque and Jabba the Hutt's Palace that the Turks put together to protest the Lego set

Lego is good

I've had some people tell me that legos are lame stupid and that nobody likes them, but did you know over 50 percent of kids like lego?

Here are some reasons that i've received to say that lego is good or bad.

  •  Some people consider legos childish or boy like. Because of this, multiple people do not give LEGOS a chance.
  • I don't like lego because it's considered dorky, childish, or addicting.
  • I love legos!!
  •  Some people are over obsessed with Lego!!!!!!!!! It's too childish, and they are like baby types.
  • Legos inspire creativity, and ideas thereof.  Thus,  those who don't like legos may not be quite so creative or ambitious enough to give it a shot!
  • Lego is boring, lego is frustrating, and it's a hazard for young children.
  • Why would people hate lego?
  • Lego is good because it fosters the imagination.
  • Legos are bad because they invite kids to play with just lego, and not to play with anything else.
