Cool creation of the week: Lego guns

This cool creation of the week I did a little while ago when I decided making a Lego gun would be fun. It took a lot more work than I expected, but it was worth it in the end. After making a Lego pistol, I thought it would be fun to try making a Lego revolver. The revolver, though smaller than the pistol, took a lot longer, and a lot more work. They are both fully functional,  both shoot decently far, (though the revolver works better) and were fun to make.

Cool creation of the week: Lego Honda Element

     This cool creation of the week took me a little while to complete, I think I took 3-5 hours building it, and it still isn't perfect.
     I originally got the idea for this build when I noticed how the Front of the Honda Element looked like it was almost built out of Lego. From there the idea took off.
     I looked at a lot of pictures of Honda Elements, and started building, and in the end my build ended up like this...   I really like the way it looks, especially with the cool racing stripe.

Cool Creation of the Week: Lego salt lake temple

     As most of you know i'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
     Recently an article in the news was published about a man who spent 9 years creating a minifigure scale Salt Lake Temple. When my Grandpa (on my Mom's side) showed me this I was inspired to create my own, but in a way smaller scale.
     I got about 9/10ths of the way done, but ran out of bricks. I decided to show it off anyways, and so on mother's day I showed it off to both sides of my family.
     They all really liked it, but my Grandpa (on my Dad's side) said I should finish it, and pointed out some things to fix.
     I went back to work, but again ran out of bricks, so I went to Brick Link.
     I ordered the pieces I needed, and was finally able to complete it.
     A special thanks to Snark Bricks, and to Grumpy Grandpas Bricks, for making ordering the pieces so smooth.

Lego eggplant

This is a Lego eggplant that I built out of the knight bus when it broke. It was originally supposed to be a Christmas decoration, but I couldn't figure out how to hang it, so I made this.

I went down to the lego star wars event at Toys R Us on May 3rd, but they were out of Star Wars sets, fortunately they had some lego City ones to give out.

Angry Minifigures are not harming children

      Angry Minifigures (lego guys) has recently been a hot topic on the media ever since a study was conducted and showed that more angry Minifigures are being made than happy ones.
       Gusses were made and opinions taken. Even some sources guessed that this might be harming children. The truth is out: Angry minifigures are not harming children. These studies don't even prove that the angry faces are affecting children. All they prove is that the LEGO company has been changing the expressions of their minifigures to help inspire creativity, and help kids (and adults) be able to play with LEGO products more easily.
        look at these images below, and consider the following.In this classic scene "Shelob Attacks" from lord of the rings we have three different Minifigure expressions. Frodo: scared or mad, Sam: Nervous, or Mad, and Golem: mad/ grinning (hard to tell with him).
         Now wouldn't this scene look cheesy if Golem was grinning,  Sam was looking happy about finding his friend tied up, and Frodo being thrilled about being captured? The answer is clear: YES!
        The new expressions that LEGO has made can inspire creativity, and help kids and adults make and build scenes easier. The truth is, angry Minifigures are not harming children!

Lego gun control

A kindergartener age 6 was riding on a bus on his way to school, holding an average Lego Minifigure  gun less then the size of a quarter, when another kid in the bus shouted to the driver that he had a gun.

The unnamed six year old kid was forced to write a letter to the bus driver to apologize for the incident. He had to serve a one day detention, and temporary suspension from riding the bus.
The kid who tattled on the boy with the lego gun was forced to apologize to the bus driver as well, but faced no additional charges.
A letter was sent to the boy's parents assuring that it was just a lego brick, and not a real gun. They put the boy in detention any way.

        It's A recreation of a famous Chocolate store  in Orem, Utah, and I would say they did a mighty fine job.

Lego just barley released the brand new lego lord of the rings tower of Orthanc!

Interesting fact

According to the U.S. patents Ole Kirk Christiansen didn't paten his own invention, lego. His son Godtfred Kirk Christiansen did. That surprises me because Godtfred was the one who originally didn't want to buy the plastic making machine, but he had it panted? Weird.
